Every year theres one event that fashion students across the nation look forward to most of all. Yep Graduate Fashion Week is almost upon us. Just in case you haven't heard of it, GFW is an event showcasing the work from Britain's best fashion graduates, its a chance for budding graduates to show their talents to some big names in the industry.
Being in my first year of university this is very exciting for me, particularly as my university, Ravensbourne, are showcasing at the event.

The events features some of the best universities from around the country, and for 2013 the event is being restructured. The plans include a restructure of the awards ceremonies, creating a more streamlined Gala Show experience. Of the new format, Chairman, Rob Templeman said; “We hope the new format will enable all our successful students to have a chance to show off their winning entries.” The Gala Show will now feature only the winners of the George Gold Award, the Women’s, Men’s, Knitwear, Textiles and International Awards. The other awards will be announced each day across the week enabling recruiters, media and other attendees at the event the time needed to see all the entries and also hear feedback from judges.
Graduate Fashion Week 2013 also is excited to announce the addition of new Universities to its fantastic roster, including Limerick School of Art and Design, Norwich University College of Art and University of Northampton.
With Vivienne Westwood sitting front row and praising Ravensbourne students in 2010, it is an amazing oppourtunity for design students.
The event starts 2nd June till the 5th at Earls Court. Tickets for both the catwalk shows and the exhibitions are available at the official website http://www.gfw.org.uk, snap one up whilst you can its deffo a chance to catch new and exciting talent in the fashion world.
