British label All Saints have also chosen to showcase their Summer 2014 collection in New York. This seems a little strange to me, as All Saints isn’t a particularly big brand in Britain. Perhaps they’re hoping they will attract more customers with a risky move to the big apple. I guess they will have to measure the success of this season as to whether they do the same next season. I don’t see this affecting the British High Street at all, fans of All Saints will continue to shop there regardless it could only make things better for the brand.

Honor NYC Comes to UK
There’s a new brand making
its debut on online department store Matches. New York based label Honor is now
available online. The brand was founded in New York in 2010; their garments
include elegant eveningwear, using intricate embroidery and luxurious fabrics
to create a sense of sophistication. The brand has been
compared to high fashion brand Miu Miu, but said to be more affordable. That
last statement is questionable when looking at some of the prices on Matches. A
blouse starts at £500 plus and dresses are around £1,400 so its fair to say
it’s a premium brand. Moreover the garments don’t seem to me that they would be
worth the price tag, for that price id expect a well-made quality garment. What
do you guys think of Honor? Will they stop at Matches or will they take over
more of the UK in the future?
